checking system requirements to run Magento

Magento's User Guide advises me to check with my hosting company to make sure that they support the following specifications/

Supported Operating Systems: Linux server x86, x86-64/

Supported Web Servers: Apache 1.3.x or Apache 2.x/

PHP Compatibility: 5.2.13 and above with Safe mode off/

MySQL: 4.1.20 and above/

I have InMotion's Power Plan, and would like to make sure that I can set up a Magento site. Please let me know if InMotion supports these specs.

Hello Alexinmo, There are different levels of servers available with InMotion, but even the lowest level of configuration can run Magento. You can install Magento through Softaculous. One word of caution- depending on the size of your database and your expected customer level, you may want to consider starting with a VPS level account.
