Exceeded Message Quota - Spam or Menace?

I received an email saying that I "Exceeded Message Quota". It's from [email protected]. It says:


"You have exhausted the 5 GB bandwidth of your email account, and for this reason some incoming emails


with files and documents above 50 KB have been filtered and placed on hold.

We hear by inform you to update your email to Add extra 50GB space." [spacing is theirs]

My mailbox sizes are about 0.5GB total, not 5GB as cited in the note. Is this spam? "Hear by" is one word in English.

I can't find anything about this in Cpanel. I only use Roundcube now and then, when I am on the road.

What's up  with this?

Thanks! It sure looked spammy, but I figured I'd make sure my account is in ship-shape.
