How can I move my trial boldgrid website to my domain?

I did use BoldGrid's Cloud WordPress site, yes. So I got the Total Upkeep plugin and created a backup. Then I restored the site, and it is still as it was. ---? Not sure how to make the destination this: www.omoscience.com

Glad to hear you are making progress! I removed the URL from your temporary domain for the sake of your privacy, but you're almost there!

Here is what you have left to do: 

  • Log in to to the temporary/staging site you are trying to move and create a backup of that site using Total Upkeep. Save that to your computer-- not the server, but your personal device. 
  • Log in to the new WordPress installation on cPanel (which should currently be an entirely separate site with the default 'starter' WordPress Page).
  • Install Total Upkeep on the new WordPress installation on your cPanel. After that stage, you should have a 'starter' WordPress page with default content that has the Total Upkeep plugin installed. 
  • Use the backup you made of your staging site with the version of total upkeep installed on the new cPanel site. That should restore the backup of the staging site to its new location!
    • This may require the use of FTP, depending on the size of the backup. If it's large enough that you need to upload it to your cPanel account before continuing, I recommend using Filezilla

There are a few different points to account for in the best way to advise you on how to proceed. Let me zoom out and provide some more context before making a recommendation. 

First, you will not usually create a new cPanel for you second domain. If you are managing dozens of websites at a time, or creating websites for multiple clients, you may need separate cPanels/plans. If you just want a couple of websites for yourself, putting them both on the same cPanel is not a problem. 

Second, the number of sites you can have on one cPanel account will depend on what kind of account you have. Most plans allow multiple websites per account. With our plans here at InMotion, only the WP-1000S plan has a limit of a single website. Every other plan, by default or by custom configuration, can have multiple sites on one cPanel. 

Third, you won't need to change anything with your existing site to set up your new site. Leave those files as is. 

Now to the issue at hand. Two things need to be done for a domain. First, the domain needs to be pointed at the right nameservers, which ultimately point to the web host. Don't worry, I checked publicly available records and it looks like that has already been taken care of!

If you have not already done so, please add the domain to your cPanel account as an addon domain.

Now, with all that taken care of, you can proceed as described: install WordPress to the site using something like Softaculous, install the plugin to the site and restore the old files from the plugin.

I'm sorry, I'm so confused. I tried to install WordPress, but I couldn't login to the cpanel for my new domain. Is the problem that I started with another website, which is www.treeforteditorial.com?I would like to keep that website, but I  am trying to build a second website at the domain www.omoscience.com. I am also confused about "pointing" to hosting. I don't know what that means. Is it a problem that I am trying to have two websites instead of just one?

Apologies-- I slightly misunderstood where you were at in the process. 

After you make the backup, you need to restore it to somewhere that your new domain is hosted. 

It looks like the domain you posted is currently empty. First, you will need to create a new WordPress installation on that domain. It looks like you've already pointed it to hosting. Assuming it's pointed to us, go ahead and use Softaculous to install WordPress on the site

This will provide you with a standard new/placeholder WordPress site. That's more important than it may seem-- it means a database and everything on the back end is already set up. 

Once that's up and running, log into the site and install the Total Upkeep plugin. You'll now have a plain, new site with nothing new except the plugin, but that's all you'll need! Use the plugin to restore your backup to that new site you just installed on your domain and you'll be all set.

That will depend on how you are currently using your trial BoldGrid website. If you set this up with BoldGrid's Cloud WordPress, you will need to use the Total Upkeep plugin to create a backup of the site, then use the same plugin to restore the site.
