How to actually publish Joomla site

Hi
I have developed a web site in Joomla 2.5 and am almost ready to go. How do I "publish" it so that it replaces the site I now have in www.website.com/public_html? All of the material is on Inmotion.
Do I just change a pointer somewhere or do I copy the material in www.website.com/public_html/Joom to somewhere else?
Thanks for the help.

Hello Rangerbob,

If you're referring to your primary domain, then it will be in the root of the public_html folder. If you're trying to replace the website that's under /public_html/website.com , then you would need to the replace the folders in that corresponding directory. The website files will always be under public_html (either IN that folder or a subfolder under it) unless a custom modification has been done by our systems team (I double-checked your account and there was no root folder modification done). You will need to go into the configuration files and fix the paths to match your installation location. Additionally, make sure that the database is also correctly referenced (database location would "localhost").

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.
