environment variables

I would like to set some environment variables for my site. I tried to create a file in /etc/profile.d but I don't have permissions. All I am doing is defining some directories so I don't need to change them every time I deploy. This may not be optimal but my production is sandbox and I already spent quite a bit of time setting it up this way. Thanks!

Hello BuckeyAndSadie,

Your base account does not have permissions outside a normal cpanel account. However, since you are on a VPS server, you can also request a root access account so you can gain access to other areas to customize your server.

I have sent the Root Access Disclosure Agreement to the email account on file. Simply read over that and send it back to request your root access. Our systems team will then create a root account for you so you can make any changes necessary.

Best Regards,
