Fantastico De Luxe is not in my Cpanel

We have a VPS account and I want to install a current version of WordPress using Fantastico De Luxe, but Fantastico De Luxe is missing from my CPANEL. This is for an additional domain on the account, not the primary domain.

I was able to install and configure a very old WordPress version (2.7.1) using the Site Software tool in Cpanel, but I need WordPress 3 or higher and I am guessing that Fantastico De Luxe will do that.

Hello erichelmuth,

The Fantastico license is not standard on our VPS or Dedicated accounts, but is offered as an addon feature. It is currently offered as either $5 per month or $50 per year.

Since you were able to get a version of Wordpress installed, when logging into the admin panel, it should give you an update option at the top where it will then install the current version for you. I believe that is 3.4.1 at the moment.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you.

Fantastico, a feature in cPanel that helps you easily install programs to your account, is no longer available. As of September 17th, 2012, Fantastico has been replaced by Softaculous.

This article is being kept in our Support Center for our VPS and Dedicated Customers who may still be using Fantastico. For all other users, please see our Softaculous software installation guide for more help with installing programs such as WordPress and Joomla.
