yes, Its my understanding that it is best to limit the access of the programmer to the cpannel area, and not the amp area.Is this true? or is it the other way around? It appears that any user has to go through the amp area to get to the control pannel. What is the proper thing to do in this regard?

thanks.

Hi rodk, It appears that any user has to go through the amp area to get to the control pannel. There are two ways you can access cPanel: 1. Through AMP 2. Through http://yourdomain.com/cpanel For example, if your domain name was YourDomain.com, your developer would type in YourDomain.com/cpanel. They would then be prompted for the cPanel username and password. That is just a quick overview, but you can find more detailed information here on how to log into cPanel. Its my understanding that it is best to limit the access of the programmer to the cpannel area, and not the amp area.Is this true? or is it the other way around? Because you can make purchases and make high level account changes through AMP, it is not a good idea to allow your developer access to AMP (they simply shouldn't need it). What you can do is set a custom password for cPanel that is different from your AMP password, and then give that to your developer. I hope that helps! Feel free to post any follow up questions in the comments at the bottom of this page. Thanks, - Brad
