Images fail to load in browser when site is accessed

I made my site with dreamweaver it has a number of images, of giff, jpg and png types. When the pages are accessed on the local computer on which the files exist with IE, Firefox or Chrome all images are displayed correctly. I uploaded all pages to your server using filezilla. When trying to access the site from the server 50% of the images fail to display in both IE and Firefox, the type of image makes no difference.

Any ideas?

No error messages are given.

The fault has been evident from the first upload of site and subsequent retries of uploading.

The site was developed using Dreamweaver CS5

Hello AndrewWebb,

The issue is with case sensitivity. The folder you have your images in is named Images (capital I) and the links that are failing are looking for a folder named images (lowercase i). Our servers are Linux servers and so case matters a great deal. Windows machines and servers do not distinguish between upper and lower case.

All you need to do is to ensure all the links are set with the uppercase I and all should be well. I checked the Images folder and the images all appear to be there.

I hope this answers your question today. If you have any further questions or concerns on the issue please leave a comment below.

Thank you!
