Why isn't PHPMyAdmin working with Mod_Security?

I followed the following guide to install support for multiple users in myphpadmin:

https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/databases/installing-phpmyadmin-on-your-account

The tutorial works and I can now login to phpmyadmin without CPanel but my users now get the error:

Method Not Implemented

GET to /phpMyAdmin/tbl_change.php not supported.

when they try to edit a field in a table. I have googled the error and people suggest there is an issue with the mod_security setting. I cannot seem to find a way to fix this issue.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you today. The error is a 406 error and is typically Mod_Security flagging the action as possibly malicious in intent.

I'd recommend requesting support "turn off" mod_security for your domain. You can submit an email to [email protected] with the request. In the email, you'll need to verify your account with the last four digits of the credit card on file or the current AMP password. Also, be sure to reference which domain you want mod_security turned off for.

Mod_security is only one layer of security used to protect your account. At times, we recommend just turning it off if it's affecting your ability to operate your website as you want.

If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.

Thanks!
