Everytime I try to install it I get an error saying only one script can be in the root directory? I have removed it with fantastico and nothing happens, i get the same error. I have tried to remove it manually but I cant find fantasticodata folder on the left menu tree.

Hi tdjurcev,

Thank you for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. The .fantasticodata file is a hidden file. Your cPanel settings were set to not show hidden files. I've reset your settings so you can see them now.

  1. Click on the .fantasticodata folder on the left side pane in file manager
  2. Then you'll need to open the "installed_in_root.php" file with the code editor. You can do this by right clicking on the file and selecting "code editor"
  3. Next, you'll want to remove the entry for the domain you are trying to install WordPress on
  4. Then, click on "save" in the upper right corner
  5. At this point you should be able to install WordPress using Fantastico

If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us. Thanks!

Fantastico, a feature in cPanel that helps you easily install programs to your account, is no longer available. As of September 17th, 2012, Fantastico has been replaced by Softaculous.

This article is being kept in our Support Center for our VPS and Dedicated Customers who may still be using Fantastico. For all other users, please see our Softaculous software installation guide for more help with installing programs such as WordPress and Joomla.
