How do I correct an error in Joomla after moving to another server?

I'm having difficulty installing extensions/modules in Joomla for the site hosted here.
If I try to install them by uploading a package file located on my computer I get an error message: JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Warning! Failed to move file.

If I try to do this manually by uploading the file via cPannel to my tmp folder and then in Joomla trying to install from the directory using the correct path name (eg: /home/mysitename/tmp/file_trying_to_install, I get the error message: Please enter a package directory.

The tmp file location set up in Joomla (Global settings) is correct for the tmp file location in cPannel-file manager. I tried changing the permissions on the tmp folder and this didn't solve anything.
It doesn't seem to make a difference if the file is zipped or unzipped. Either way I get error messages.

Hoping you can help.

Hi Customer, Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you today. Typically, you'll upload the ZIP package for the Joomla extension via the admin dashboard for Joomla. Is this where you are getting the error? Also, this error is typical if you have moved Joomla from one server to another. Here's a link to the fix for the error: Fixing a jfolder create error in Joomla I hope this helps! If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us. Thanks! Tim S
