Back when I signed on with InMotion Hosting with the intention to building my website with WordPress, they had me make a change to my laptop/or maybe browser that would allow me to make changes to the website without publishing. I now have transferred the website to Weebly for hosting and when I try to access my website on my laptop it takes me to the INMotion Hosting 'cover' page. The site works fine with any other device... so I know it is particular to my laptop. Can anyone recommend how to restore previous settings so that I can access my site normally on my laptop? Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your laptop not resolving to your website. It sounds like you may have made changes to your "hosts" file, which controls how your specific computer finds a website. You can delete or comment out the lines that point to your InMotion IP address to remove them. Here is a helpful link to our guide on How to Modify Your hosts File Using Windows, we also have a guide for how to edit your hosts file on a Mac as well.

If you are on linux, you can typically edit the hosts file in: /etc/hosts

Thank you,

John-Paul
