Thank you for your reply. I am not able to navigate to my Downloads folder with my FTP client, which is Filezilla. I have Windows 10, when I open C:/users/user1/Downloads, some folders are shown but none contain my backup file. Could you help?

Thank you

Hello Wabrant@gmail,

Sorry for the issues with the backup restoration.  You stated originally that the backup file is in the Downloads folder.  If you're looking at the folder and you do not see it, then it's possible that the file is not there or it's in a DIFFERENT downloads folder.  I would first verify where the downloads file is specifically located.  You can use Windows explorer to help you - windows key + E.  Use the tool to search your drive to find the backup file.

When you find the file, make sure it's somewhere that allows you to access the file through FTP.  If necessary copy or move the file to a location where you can see it.   FileZilla has 2 areas where you can interact with files - the SOURCE (generally the local computer) and the DESTINATION  (generally set to be your web server).  You should be able to see the file with Filezilla if it's on your computer and then move it where it needs to go.

If you continue to have problems, then contact your host's technical support team for additional assistance. If you're an InMotion Hosting customer, then our support team can be reached via phone/chat/email.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest Regards,

Thank you for contacting us about uploading a backup file from your Downloads. You should be able to navigate to your Downloads folder within the FTP client, or open the Downloads folder and drag the file into the Upload section and drop it. For more information, see our full guide on How do I Upload a File to my Server. Let us know if you have any further questions.
