I have root access, have tried to edit ~ ./bashrc to change my $JAVA_HOME path to /usr/lib/jvm/jre-11-openjdk . I was editting ~ ./bashrc but didn't know how to save the changes. Is there a way I should be doing this?

Thanks.

Hello inmoFan,

Thanks for the question on how to change the $JAVA_HOME file path for CENTOS7.  I found instructions in several places and I have added two links below that appear to be fairly informative.

https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/243853/how-to-set-java-home-correctly-on-centos

https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-set-java-home-on-centos

The second link will probably best in giving you a solid list of steps for what you need to do.  If you continue to have problems you can also try to contact the live technical support team.  They will be able to access your account and work with you privately if needed.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest Regards,

Arnel C.
