Have been transferring my account into a shared hosting account here. Things went alright with 2 sites (1 primary and 1 add-on site) While transferring this particular site (is an add-on site) though am having a problem. Am using ExpressionWeb to do this. It appears everything went alright except while doing the ftp I received an error saying - Failed to change directory to images.  Can't change directory to /mydomainname.com/images. No such file or directory (550) Umm, have quite a few images but none are now here at Inmotion. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind I am not the most experienced in doing these type of things.

Hello,

Sorry for the issue with uploading the site.  If you're transferring the files into an addon domain, then the URL for that domain may be the issue.  Your settings in the software may need to reflect the correct path.  The error seems to indicate that the software is expecting that folder (images) to exist.  We do not create an IMAGES folder by default, so it would be up to you or the software you're using to create that folder.  Look at your files on your local computer (from where you're publishing the site from).  Make sure that the saved files for the site you're uploading includes the folder called IMAGES.

ExpressionWeb has been around for awhile, so I'm not sure what version you're using, but I after double-check the existing files and folders for the site you're trying to upload, make sure that all the settings you're using for this particular site are correct.  If you continue to have problems, then you may want to contact our live technical support team so that they can see what's happening when you're trying to upload the site.  They may also be able to offer you some alternate solutions.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Thank you very much Arnel C. for replying to my question, is very much appreciated.  I have transferred on my own the primary domain and 3 add-on sites. All three of those sites had an image folder on my local computer (ExpressionWeb4) I did not create any additional image folders myself so am assuming the images folder got transferred when I transferred those sites. (ExpressionWeb didn't inform me they were creating that folder but I ended up with image folders in the file manager at Inmotion after transferring the sites.

I transferred the site I am referring to the same way I transferred the other sites. (I was unable to do any of those sites at first but after correspondence with your support people they told me what location and directory settings to try using. Although I had been using different settings for years at my previous host with no troubles I did as your support people suggested and was then able to transfer those 3 sites.)

When I look at the files from where I am publishing there is an images folder on both sides.  There is an images folder in the file manager for this site at Inmotion, too. They both say they are empty, though.  I even attempted through the file manager to upload one image at a time. It put the image into the file manager but not in the images folder and am not able to just drag it into there either.

As I said, I have been using ExpressionWeb4 (FrontPage before that) for years without problems editing and uploading files. I had never attempted to transfer any of my sites when moving from one host to another (has only been 2 other hosts) because that had always been done for me at no cost. I was satisfied with my previous host but due to serious heath problems that won't be going away it was absolutely necessary for me to either cut hosting costs or get rid of all my sites. I choice Inmotion in large part because I had read how great your support was.  I don't doubt that is the case for others and I very much appreciate the help I have been given but it seems once I solve one problem there is another right behind it to solve. I guess this is very frustrating to me since I haven't had any of these problems in the past and am at the point where I am not quite sure what to do.

In regards to contacting the technical support, I had contacted them through AMP. I don't want to say anything bad about anyone but instead of trying to help me solve the problem I was basically told that what I was asking for help with is something where I should be paying to have you transfer my site. That is not what I was asking to have done. I have 8 sites and have transferred the three so far on my own. Intend to do the other 5 on my own as well. It looks like I will continue to have problems and since I thought these were the less complicated sites to transfer, have a feeling these problems may only get worse. I may end up having to create my sites all over again on my own instead of transferring them .

I do very much appreciate your attempting to help me.
