Index.html file in primary domain not working

I have what I believe is called a “primary domain”, and then two sub-domains.
I can navigate to both of the sub-domains via a web browser, and see the content I expect as exists in the index.html that is there. When I navigate to my primary domain I get a list of files/directories, such as

sub-domain1.com/                     2013-08-16 15:49 -
sub-domain2..com/                   2021-10-19 11:47 -
cgi-bin/                                         2021-05-05 22:30 -
primary-domain.com/              2021-01-21 16:28 -

rather then the contents specified by the index.html in the directory for the primary domain.

Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong.

Hello! There are a few possibilities.

The most likely issue is that the .htaccess in your primary domain's directory is configured to use index.php or a different file and not properly displaying index.html. Check your .htaccess file and follow our guide on switching your site's index page to make sure that you are set to use index.html by default if you want that to display. Hope that helps-- it usually solves these sorts of problems! If not, I'd get in direct contact with our Live Support team, they can connect directly to your account and see what the problem is.
