Hi,

I have just suscribed to a 2-year inmotion hosting plan, but I didn't get any "Welcome to InMotion Hosting" email.

How can I create and activate my account please?

I have already been a client of inmotion some years ago, and I'm using the same email adress.

Thank you,

S. Lupu

Hi S. Lupu,

Thank you for your question regarding account activation. Unfortunately, as this is a public forum, I am unable to disclose any account-specific information or make any changes to your account. For a matter such as this I recommend contacting our Customer Service team directly and having them look into reactivating your account:

How can i host my site on Inmotion

Hello! I removed your site link for your privacy, after I took a look at it so that I could give you the best possible information.

If you would like us to host your website, all you'll need to do is subscribe to a hosting plan (like our WordPress Hosting), transfer your site to InMotion Hosting, and then point your domain -- so that when people type in your site address, they go to your site here at InMotion Hosting rather than the old version of the site.

The good news is that your existing website is a WordPress site on cPanel, so it's one of the easiest sites for you to transfer. It's even easier if you only need to transfer the WordPress site and not the entire cPanel account (emails, etc.).

Transfers are also available as a service from our Managed Hosting team as well.

A few more tips: make sure that you retain control of your domain name registration -- you can keep that registration at your current domain registrar, or transfer the registration to us, but don't lose it. Sometimes your web host is also your domain registrar, so you should know exactly where the domain is registered in advance to avoid problems later.

For a similar reason, I always advise anyone thinking about switching web hosts to look into doing so before their current hosting expires. It's usually a smooth process, but starting a little early means you'll have plenty of time to fix things if something unexpected eats up time.

Lastly, as always, take good and up to date backups of your cPanel, your Database(s), and your WordPress site itself. Storage space is cheap, but when you need them backups are priceless.
