Sent emails are not syncing across all my devices.  IMAP settings are identical on iPhone, iPad, and Mac Book.

How would you rate the customer service you received?

Hello PJS,

Thank you for contacting us about emails not syncing across all devices. Ensure none of the accounts have a folder size limit set up. Also, check the email filters you have set up for each account. One may be set to delete or move emails to a specific folder. If your problems persist, check your mail log for additional clues or record of what IP address is connecting with the server and receiving the emails.

Thank you,

John-Paul

It turns out the automatic configuration for new email accounts in Mac OS 10.xx.x does not setup IMAP accounts with the proper ports or server names.  When setting up a new email account, Mac OS does not invite the user to manually enter server names or ports.  The resulting configuration seems to work at first...but then one discovers some folders are not properly syncing.

This is an irritating bug  (sort of like a gnat) with Mac Mail.  I never experienced this issue with MS Outlook, which prompts the user for server/port information.   Solution: I reconfigured all of my email accounts by going to mail/preferences/accounts/server settings - then unchecking "automatically manage connection settings" and finally entering the correct IMAP SSL ports and server names for the incoming and outgoing servers.

Bottom line: don't trust Mac OS to correctly setup an email account.
