Max email file size 20 MB

I've searched the topic on maximum file size limits for emails and every answer I've seen says 50MB. However, we're finding that anytime we try and attach a file over 20MB in size to an email, we immediately get a pop up box that says "The file you're attaching is bigger than the server allows, Try putting the file in a share location and sending a link instead".

Is it just that the posts about 50MB limits are obsolete and max file size has been lowered, or something in our settings or....?

Hello Hal,

Thank you for your question regarding email file size. It is possible that the settings for your account are limiting your email sending size. By default, it is 50 MB, however this can be changed in the Web Host Manager, which is only accessible to Reseller Hosting customers and above. If you are on Shared Hosting, you will need to contact our Technical Support team for assistance with this issue.

Best Regards,
