Is there a way to set up the email on my iphone and computer so that If I delete it from my iphone it is not deleted on my computer?

There is, yes! There are two standard ways to set up an email client: IMAP and POP3. 


IMAP is the one that 'syncs' email across your devices. It's usually more popular these days, so most guides describe enabling it by default. POP3 is the other format that behaves as you describe. 

When you configure your email, make sure that you use the 'POP3' configuration. The main difference is the port numbers-- The Incoming Port will be 995 for POP3 (as opposed to the standard 993 for IMAP). 

As always, please test it once it is set up, but that should allow you to delete email from your phone without having any effect on the server!
