Did the upgrade through Softaculous, but when I go to the Moodle Admin link and it tries to finish the upgrade, I'm stopped at the page that does the 'checks' with this error message. Any suggestions on how to resolve this? (New user here) Thanks for your help!

Hello JoelW,

Sorry for the issue with the error when upgrading Moodle.  The error message is telling you that the config.php file on your server needs to be edited.  the database type is MariaDB.  This is known as a fork of MySQL. The newer versions of cPanel switched to MariaDB.  You can edit your file (it's a text file), by finding it in your Moodle install file with the cPanel File Manager or an FTP client.  You would need to download and edit the file in a text editor if you used an FTP client. You can see more information from Moodle's Configuration file in their official documentation. As per the error message, when you edit the file, just change 'mysql' to 'mariadb'.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest Regards,

Arnel C.
