Redux -- What is the current version of Git on Inmotion?

There seems there is an inconsistency between the SSH and HTTP services. HTTP pays attention to php.ini -- but php.ini is ignored by the server that handles an SSH terminal.

Please refer to my original Q&A dialog (in particular, my additional details added on 2018-01-07 11:17 pm ) for more details:

Should I put this matter in a formal ticket or is the correct support level?
Thanks, Tony

Hello Tony, Thanks for asking your question about using GIT on your shared server account. The problem that you have stated is that you're getting a few different errors based on the command you're running:
  • "git status" returned "fatal: unable to create threaded lstat"
  • "git branch" returned "fatal: mmap failed: Cannot allocate memory"
The problem you're having is most likely related to memory allocation on the shared server. Since it is a shared server, you do not have access to dedicated resources for your use. My recommendation is to upgrade your account to a VPS or Dedicated server where resources are dedicated for your use. There are a couple things I found while researching this issue. You may want to check out these posts as they have possible workarounds for your problems: These support forum posts detail information on the errors that you're seeing and may provide solutions for your problem. As per my previous answer to you, Community Support maintains the Support Center website. If you want to handle this in private, or if you want to have support personnel further investigate the problem, then please submit a verified support ticket to our live technical support team. You can find their contact information at the bottom of the page. If you have any further questions, please let us know. Kindest regards, Arnel C.
