I don't know if something has changed, but I cannot figure out how to change my Title tag (in the Header area), or my Meta Name=Description. Please help. It worked about 6 months ago.

Hello!

I'm sorry to see you're experiecing issues with updating your Tags and Meta Descriptions. You should be able to modify those details for each article, from within the articles editor. Here are some brief instructions to do so (in version 3.4.1):

  1. Login to Joomla! administrative dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Content > Article Manager
  3. Click the check box next to the article to edit and then click Check-in.
  4. Click the check box next to the article to edit and then click Edit.

Once you're in the editor you can follow along with the instructions below, based on which data you're modifying.

Tags:

  1. Inside the editor on the right-hand column, locate the "Tags" field.
  2. Simply type your tags into that field, this should set them within the header of that article.
  3. Ensure you click Save and Close, then you can review your site.

Meta Description and Meta Keywords:

  1. From the editor click on the Publishing tab.
  2. There you will find the Meta Description and Meta Keywords fields that you can enter your details into.

If you're looking to set the Meta Description for the website itself, you can refer to our guide on Changing the Site Meta Description in Joomla 3.1
