I've created a subdomain (subdomain.domain.com) but it's not working. I thought it's just because of propagation but after 48hours I access the subdomain again but no luck, it's not working.

However I can access www.domain.com/subdomain

Although the answer from the InMotion staff could be true in a different case, the main reason in this issue is that the document root for the subdomain has not been properly defined. Here is how you can resolve the problem in two easy steps:

1. Login into CPanel and select the ‘Subdomains’ icon
2. Scroll down and edit the ‘Document Root.’ If your subdomain folder is in the public_html folder on the server (which is always the case) then you need to edit the document root so that it becomes /public_html/subdomain

Once you do that, you will see that the address subdomain.domain.com will now work and the domain.com/subdomain will show a 404 error. By now, I trust you are aware of the free DNS checking tools such as https://www.whatsmydns.net

Hope this helps. Please give my response a thumbs-up if it helped so that others can also benefit from it!

Hello, Thank you for your question regarding a subdomain that is not working. If you are not pointed to InMotion Hosting's Nameservers, you must ALSO create the subdomain where your Nameservers are hosted, then point the subdomain's "A record" to your Shared IP address. We are happy to help you test further, but will need some additional information. Please provide the full subdomain for us to test. Thank you, John-Paul
