Policies and Restrictions for Reselling Hosting Accounts

I have a reseller account and am just beginning to offer shared hosting to the public - rather than just friends and known clients.

I'd like to be able to answer some common, reasonable questions. So if you could fill-in these blanks it would be most helpful . . .

Automatic Backups ? - I see them advertised on your site but I don't know how to initiate them.

SSDs ? - Do you use them exclusively ? No spinning discs at all ?

What sort of DNS protections are in place at the server level ? Are connections / requests limited some how ?

Are there any restrictions on the type of content ? I naturally disallow anything hateful, illegal or vile. But how do you decide whether content is unacceptable ?

How many MySQL database connections can be open at once ?

. . . Not a hurry for these answers, but I'd like to have these details at my fingertips when someone asks.

Thanks for your kind attention,

Tim

Hello Tim,

Thank you for your questions on reseller accounts. We are happy to answer them for you.

For the automatic backups, our policy is that each cPanel account gets a free daily backup as long as it is under 10GB.

For server protection, we do have DDoS protections and active sever monitors that look for anomalies and abnormal connection trends. From there we have automated and manual responses that we can implement.

All our servers are now on SSDs. We have eliminated the old HDDs from our server fleet.

For content, we do have specifics on what we do not allow (hate speech, porn, etc). This can be found in our Terms of Service. You can, of course, be more strict in what you want to allow if you like.

The max number of concurrent MySQL connections is set to 30.

I hope that helps! Be sure to let us know if you have any more questions.

Kindest Regards,
Scott M
