Moving changes from my development site to my live site in WordPress

Hi,

I watched your video on creating a duplicate site for development. It was good and I was able to create a duplicate site successfully.

Now I have made some changes over a few days, on the development site (www.newsite.staffme.co.nz), and I would like to get those changes across to the live site, staffme.co.nz.

I can copy the files easily enough in file manager and I understand that I should back them up first but what do I do with the database? I can't just duplicate the whole thing because I will lose any new sign-ups and posts that the live site has had.

Do you have a tutorial on this? Is there a plugin that will allow me to easily do it? Or do I have to manually copy stuff across?

Thanks for the help.

Hello Brad, Thanks for your question about moving the WordPress database after cloning the site. The process is very much the same as migrating a WordPress site. You have to migrate the database. The steps to do this can be found in this tutorial about migrating the WordPress database. I hope that helps to answer your question! If you have any further questions, please let us know know. Kindest regards, Arnel C.
