Trouble making comments on CommentPress Plugin on WP site

I have installed the CommentPress plugin on a WordPress site (phaedrus.whyandwhat.net - a networked site that is a page on the parent site whyandwhat.net). Users trying to make comments there only get a spinning status bar. I contacted the CommentPress support and here is what they reported:

"I tried to comment on your site and got the response: "http://phaedrus.whyandwhat.net/wp-comments-post.php Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)".

This suggests a misconfiguration issue with WordPress on your server. I would contact the server host and ask for a sysadmin to take a look."

Hello, Thank you for contacting us about the error 403 with CommentPress. We'll be happy to clarify that response. Yes it looks like that is likely a permission error. However not specifically a server fault, permissions are determined at the user level. You can make the necessary changes right from cPanel. These are best considered permissions: public_html - 750 Folders - 755 CGI and Perl scripts - 755 .html .php and other Document Types - 644 Best, Christopher M.
