problems after installing phpMyAdmin

I tried installing phpMyAdmin ( I am on a shared server) and the install seemed to go well. However, when I try to use it, I get a number of error messages. (Incidentally, a person on the InMotion Chat line told me I could not install phpMyAdmin on a shared server.) At the start, I get a message saying "phpMyAdmin configuration storage is not completely configured, some extended features have been deactivated". I tried following instructions to clear that up, but nothing happened. An InMotion Chat person told not to worry about it. When I then tried to use that phpMyAdmin, I got one query to work and then kept getting error # 406. An InMotion Chat person told me to whitelist my IP and gave instructions. I did that, and now I get error # 501. I am giving up on asking Chat people, and so am asking here. Does anyone know why I am getting these errors at all, since the instructions for installing phpMyAdmin do not mention any conditions that might result in these error messages?

Hello Richard.veith@smrre, Sorry for the problems with installing and using phpMyAdmin. First, there is an implementation of phpMyadmin in the cPanel which runs from the server. If you're installing it so that developers can access phpMyadmin without having to have access to your cPanel, then you will need to make sure that you have it installed in a specific way. Check out this tutorial for installing the database client. It gives you all of the necessary setup instructions. If you have followed these instructions, then please describe how you installed it and what settings you used so that we can investigate the issue in more depth. Also provide more information on what you're trying with the script you're running. The errors help, but we need a little more information to investigate why the code would be failing. I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance. Regards, Arnel C.
