Adding a Site to an already existing domain.
First of all is it possible to essential add a new site on top of and existing blog?
If so- is there an advantage or disadvantage to having contact page on each the blog and the new home website?
If there is a search bar on the new site, would it also search within the blog?
And what are advantages, or is there a good reason to create a site map?

You can add a website in front of another website or blog however they will not interact with each other even if both were coded with WordPress. If you are wanting to keep the blog as something that you post updates to then I would not suggest keeping a contact page on the blog. The search function on the main website will not search the blog as well.
