Why is the site installed in a subfolder and not the root?

I requested the bold grid site be automatically installed but I am thinking that was a mistake. I don't care for the site to have the url with an extra folder and .com in it. It does not look professional.

Hello scott,

Thank you for your question. We are happy to assist with your BoldGrid installation and we apologize for any frustration you have experienced so far. If you'd like to reinstall BoldGrid in the correct location I recommend using the Softaculous Application Installer in your cPanel account. Softaculous will allow you to clearly specify where you want to install the site as explained in the following guide:


If you are still unable to correct this issue I recommend contacting our 24/7 Technical Support team by emailing support@inmotionhosting.com, calling 888.321.HOST(4678), or by starting a chat session via your Account Management Panel.

How to manage old transferred site live while working on new BoldGrid site

Once I copy my old website files over from my old host, I want to have that site live while I work on a brand new site using BoldGrid. 

Should I set up the BoldGrid site under a subdomain and then when I'm ready, move it over to the root domain?

Basically I want to have a non-prod environment for BoldGrid, my old site with a different CMS live, and then replace my old site once development is done.  I'm thinking I should use subdomains for that?


Boldgrid vacation theme glitch

I am having difficulty customizing my Boldgrid Wordpress website. On all my pages except the front page, there is a banner area with a dark gray patterned background right below my site logo that I'm unable to edit or get rid of. I went through the customize menus but couldn't find a way to edit. When I look at individual pages it's not there. Here is a pic:

I contacted your chat support, but was unable to solve the problem or provide me with any sort of guidance. I did a google search and found that others had the same problem:


I am building the simplest of websites. I was sold on the premise that Boldgrid/WordPress/Inmotion were the best possible option because of CUSTOMER SUPPORT. How is it that I can't edit a simple background pattern out of a template and your tech support can't do better than to say good luck? Is there ANYONE at your organization who can help me?
