Can't establish FPT sever connection after changing domain

Adam Gordon 1 month ago in FTP & File Management / FileZilla updated 1 month ago 2

I set up an FTP account with an original domain and everything worked properly. I then decided to change my primary domain and now I can't establish a connection to the FTP server via FileZilla. Despite many attempts. Any advice?

Craig Kennedy 3 months ago in FTP & File Management updated 3 months ago 1

We hows a few firmware files that we manufacture for a product we make.  I was told that your hosting VPS would allow anonymous FT, but I see thats not the case.  Is it possible to enable it?

Hello Gary,

Thank you for your question regarding sending large files. Unfortunately, email attachment size limits are not able to be changed. For larger files, we recommend using FTP to transfer files between your server and another machine. Please see the following guide for more information on using FTP to transfer data:

how can i dowload all webmails to my pc

There are a few different ways to do this, depending on your situation.

If you just need to have the files, download a full cPanel backup to make sure you have all of the relevant configuration files. You can always just download the 'mail' directory, but then you would be missing the necessary configuration files to get the mail up and running.

The problem is, this data is not going to be particularly useful or usable on its own.

The best way to download emails like this is using an archive or export feature built in to a mail client like Microsoft Outlook. You're going to need to find the best software for your current situation, but this way you can actually have the emails in a format you can read and reference easy in the future. Hope that helps!

New to InMotion. Trying to ftp upload files using wput and I get receive errors. FileZilla works fine.

TomWS 3 months ago in FTP & File Management updated by JT S. (Technical Writer) 3 months ago 7

I am trying to upload files from my home server to my new InMotion host.  I've used FileZilla to create the directories and have transferred to and from the host using Filezilla.  I can download files using wget, but uploading with wput fails.  Login is ok, but I get this in response:

Receive-Error: read() failed. Read '' so far. (errno: Success (0))
Receive-Error: Connection broke down.
09:47:47 (update_20200624093552.log) - ` 2.01M/s' [528]

Waiting 10 seconds... Receive-Error: read() failed. Read '' so far. (errno: Success (0))
Receive-Error: Connection broke down.

I was able to get scp working, thank you for the suggestion, but the default port on scp failed.  I needed to use -P 2222 in order to get the operation to succeed.  Also the referenced article was ambiguous about which key (public or private) to use when.  I finally got it working after trying a number of permutations.

Net:  My problem has been solved, thank you for your help.

Answer

Hi Tony! The error occurs because the security certificates on Shared Hosting plans that your Filezilla checks use the server name instead of your domain name. While the mismatch won't usually prevent you from using Filezilla if you accept/continue/ignore the warning, I know that unresolved warnings like that can be annoying.

To resolve the warning, you will need to find your server name in cPanel or AMP. Then, you'll use the server name for the hostname instead of your site's domain name. It will usually be something like biz###.inmotionhosting.com, with the numbers replaced with your site's actual server number. Hope that helps!

I can not open an FTP Connection in Cyberduck

When I enter my info into the server, username, password fields and then I choose Passive for the connect option, I am unable to connect. It says "opening FTP connection" to my website and then does not ever quite get the job done.

Is there a way to set up Cyberduck so I only have to upload the files that have changed on my site? I am uploading the whole site every time I do an edit.
Appreciate any advice.

FTP connection via Cyberduck to Inmotion skips some files

anthem14 5 years ago in FTP & File Management / Cyberduck 0
I have a very fast fiber connection. When I attempt to upload files (in a WP-content folder), some files never make it to the server. Sometimes 0k placeholders are there, but the files are incomplete. Is there an upload limit or upload speed limit that is causing this?

Indexhibit data base is not installed

lilygad 5 years ago in FTP & File Management / Cyberduck 0
Hi,

I've downloaded indexhibit to my public_html using cyber duck and now when I'm supposed to do the install it keeps saying - Database is not installed. Could anyone have a look at my site? I'm worried it has something to do with my previous deinstall of wordpress.
