Google Search Console (formerly Webmaster Tools)
Do you want to know how your site is performing in search engines? Google Search Console can help you understand how traffic is finding and navigating to your site. Some of the information you can find there includes click through rate (CTR), position, impressions, top pages, and search queries. This information can be used to adjust your website and increase traffic from search engine results pages, also known as SERPs. For example, if people are landing on a page but are not clicking through to any other pages, you could add additional links to supplemental content (SC) to see if it increases CTR. If you are ready to setup Google search console follow this guide.
Once a visitor gets to your website, Google Analytics can provide information about who they are and what they are viewing. Information such as how many people are on your site, how long they stay on a page, and what type of device they are using can all be extracted from Google Analytics. Use this information to run reports and learn about your visitor demographics. This will help you create ads for your target audience. For example, if your target audience is younger you could use verbiage and images that attract their age group. Follow this guide to get it set up.
Google My Business
Do you want your business to show up in Google search and Google Maps? Google My Business is the best place for people to find your store location or to create ads or posts that display on SERPs. You can create free posts or pay money to promote them and reach a wider audience. You can then track the performance by seeing how many people visited your site via the posts or ads. Part of the setup process is verifying your business location. One of the easiest ways is to have Google send you a post card with a pin number to the address you provided. When you enter the pin number in your account, it will verify your location and allow your business to display on Google Maps.
Now, you know the importance of using Google for promoting your business and how to register with them. The next time someone asks you if you are on Google you can say, "Absolutely!"
