How to Update cPanel on a Dedicated Hosting Plan

Part of owning a dedicated server is performing updates and maintenance, which may include cPanel Updates. Updating cPanel ensures the latest features and security patches are available to your cPanel users. In this tutorial, we will show you how to update cPanel on your server.

Updating cPanel

  1. Log into your server via SSH as the root user.
  2. Run the following command in your shell instance
    /scripts/upcp
  3. Allow some time for the update to complete, it may take quite some time (depending on the size of the update). You are finished when you see a “Completed all updates” message.
