Zombieload and Microarchitecture Data Sampling (MDS)

Issue:Zombieload and microarchitecture data sampling (MDS)
Status:InMotion Hosting is aware of the reports. No services are reportedly affected.
Who is impacted? All computers and devices with Intel CPU’s are theoretically vulnerable.
Estimated time until resolution:Patches from Intel and related vendors will be applied as soon as they become available.

What are Zombieload and MDS?

Zombieload and other variants of microarchitecture data sampling (MDS), like Spectre and Meltdown last year, are CPU exploits capable of spying on Intel processors to extract personally identifiable information (PII) and other confidential data from Microsoft, Apple, and Unix operating systems.

Mitigating these hardware vulnerabilities will depend on the collective efforts of Intel and major vendors for proper software patching.

Intel states 8th/9th generation Intel Core processors and 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processor family are unaffacted.

What happens now?

InMotion Hosting is aware of the issue and working to maintain infrastructure security.
