The new Gutenberg Editor

This is the editor that the WordPress development team has been working to implement. When you upgrade to 4.9, the editor will be available as will the classic editor. You can add it through the plugins section here. There is also documentation available that can be seen in the WordPress menu when the plugin has been installed. As per the documentation stated about Gutenberg:

The editor will endeavour to create a new page and post building experience that makes writing rich posts effortless, and has “blocks” to make it easy what today might take shortcodes, custom HTML, or “mystery meat” embed discovery.
