Emergency Network Maintenance – 12/22/14

Last Tuesday on 12/16/2014 our east coast data center had a network outage which lasted for almost three hours. Today we will be implementing a solution for network redundancy within our east coast data center. This will create intermitten downtime throughout the evening once the maintenance starts. The maintenance will begin at 11:00 PM EST and will be completed by 2:00 AM EST on 12/23. Find out what server your account is on to see if this maintenance will affect your website.

This maintenance has been implemented successfully and is fully operational.

  • It is well past the time given (2:00am) for a resolution and I am still not able to access our website or email.  Do you have an update as to when this will be resolved?

    • Hello Mirid,

      I checked and all servers on the east coast are accessible except one. This is likely the server your site is on. The Systems team is currently working to restore that server. This server issue has nothing to do with the maintenance last night as that affected connection to the servers, but not the servers themselves. They will have that server back up and running as soon as possible.

  • More importantly, how am I supposed to log in to AMP if I can’t access it, or CPANEL, or webmail, or FTP or any other service in my account??

    • Hello Andy,

      Generally your server is located to the coast closest to you, however that is not always the case. You can look at your server name in your AMP and it can tell you. If there is an ec as part of the name, it is on the east coast, otherwise it is on the west coast.

      The AMP server is located on the west coast so you would have been able to log into that. The webserver on the east coast, however is where the site and email come from.

  • Um…how do I find out where our server is located by looking at the Tech data?  The sample page shows “ec” before the server number.  Ours does not.  Although we are located on the east coast, US.  In Florida.

    • Within a shared hosting account, if you do not see an ec at the beginning of the name of the server, it is a west coast server.
