Who is affected? – Anyone using outgoing email with InMotion Hosting shared servers

Have these issues been addressed? – The Systems Team is investigating the issue at this time. There is no current ETA for immediate resolution.

Email Sending Issues

September 16 – 1:40 PM EST: The SMTP issue have been fixed by the Systems Administration team at this time

Our System Administration team are investigating issues with SMTP services on our shared servers, this is affecting outgoing email. There is no ETA on a fix but our status page at status.inmotionhosting.com will be updated with the latest information. Our systems team is well aware of the critical nature of the issue and they are working to resolve it as soon as possible.

    1. Hello Jim,
      This issue was for SMTP and has been resolved across all servers. If you are having IMAP issues with your particular account you will want to contact Live Support for individual assistance.

    2. Please verify I submit a ticket because after that I cannot send email by PHPMailer (Could not instantiate mail function) before that works ok. Also I detected that randomly works with the same account that didnt works before

      I am not able to confirm that you sent us a ticket however are you getting any errors when you attempt to send emails out?

    4. Yes, it cannot “instantiate mail function” I ‘m trying to send emails using PHP by SMTP Auth, and this app was working ok until last week, so I think that has a relation.
      I’m changing things at the script but is the same thing

    1. Hello Alberto,

      Thank you for contacting us. Ensure your email settings are correct, and Outlook is setup correctly.

      Also, try restarting your Outlook, or computer. I have seen this work in the past.

      If your problems persist, I recommend reviewing the mail logs for errors or record of your connection. If you are on a shared server Live Support can help you review the logs.
