How to Setup and Use WordPress Comments Evolved plugin

The WordPress Comments Evolved plugin easily integrates a more robust commenting system into WordPress. Comments can be left from GooglePlus, FaceBook, Disqus, Livefyre , as well as normal WordPress comments.

Allowing users to comment from their favorite social media accounts, instead of having to create a WordPress account on your site is a great way to use social media to bring traffic to your site.

Using a plugin like WordPress Comments Evolved can also help prevent spam comments on your WordPress site by forcing visitors to use their social media accounts instead of just a dummy account they create.

  1. Hi! I have been a very happy subscriber to the Comments Evolved plugin and I’m very sad it is no longer working for our site. We upgraded our WP to 4.6.1 and all of our comments and shares disappeared. We had to deactivate the plugin and go to the native comments option.

I’m wondering if you have any information on whether an update to be compatible with WordPress 4.6.1 will be developed anytime in the future.

    thanks!

    1. Hello Gina,

Thank you for contacting us. I looked at the “Developers” page for the plugin, and it did not indicate any upcoming releases. I recommend checking there periodically for updates, or reaching out to the development team for more information.

      Thank you,
      John-Paul

    1. Cristopher, we can’t answer that. I’d suggest if you don’t have a testing site, set one up so you can test things like this. Alternatively, you can try to enable it in your current installation (production) and quickly test it. However, we don’t know the effects so we dont suggest it.

  2. I was wondering. I have buddypress active now, and jetpack, which both have memebr and comment associations inthem. How with this affect them? Must I delte them? or can I use the members profiles along with Evolved. I would like to have memebrs for the ability to give free copies of my books to layal fans, but want the simplicity of this program.

    1. Hello Sebastian,

In a perfect world, the different plugins should not step on each other. However, you will need to test the effects of having all these plugins running in a test environment. I doubt that the different plugins will be able to share information seamlessly, however.

      Kindest Regards,
      Scott M

  4. Hi

Is it possible to keep woocommerce product review whiel using this comment plugin by adding a fucntion snippet? Thanks.

    Robert

    1. Most WordPress comment plugins will override all comment boxes which also includes reviews. There may be a way to do it, but it would most likely require code changes in both plugins.
