After installing the TinyMCE Advanced plugin, you have the ability to customize the WordPress editor. This allows you to add the tools you use regularly to your editor for easy access. In this tutorial we will show you how to customize the editor in WordPress using the TinyMCE Advanced plugin.

Customizing the TinyMCE Editor

  1. Log into your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Click Settings, then TinyMCE Advanced.

    You will then be on the Editor Settings page. Check the Enable the editor menu box to add the drop down menus.

    You can also drag Unused Buttons into the editor to add them.

  3. Click the Save Changes button once you have made your selections.

    You will then see your customized editor when you modify a Page, or Post.
