When you manage a website, you should always make sure that you have a plan to backup your WordPress site. As WordPress sites are often involve customer interaction it is important that you have a backup running so that you can recover your website when needed. InMotion Hosting provides a WordPress Hosting option that is optimized for WordPress sites and there are several options for making backups available to you:
- WordPress Plugins
- cPanel Backup Wizard
- Softaculous Backups
If you’re a WordPress user you will find that you have many choices for creating backups using plugins. One of the backup plugins we often recommend is BoldGrid Backup. You can also go to the WordPress home page and search for backup plugins. For a list of backup plugins that we have reviewed, please see Recommended WordPress Backup Plugins in the InMotion Hosting Support Center.
If you have WordPress Hosting from InMotion Hosting you will always have access to the cPanel Backup Wizard. cPanel has an option for you to schedule backups called the Backup Wizard. You can learn how to use it by reviewing our article on How to Create Backups in cPanel with the Backup Wizard.
Your cPanel has a great installation tool called Softaculous. You can also use Softaculous to make backups for your WordPress site, but it doesn’t have a scheduling feature. However, it is a simple and easy way to quickly make a backup if you need on one right away. Check out our article on using Softaculous making backups.
Congratulations! You should now be able to set up a backup for your WordPress site with your WordPress Hosting account.
