WordPress provides different options to measure its performance, but Google Analytics is the most used option for checking the statistics of your website. Google Analytics can be installed without a plugin but this tutorial will demonstrate how you can install it using a Google Analytics plugin. You will need to add the tracking code to your website in order for Google Analytics to track your website activity. Follow the steps below to add the tracking code. ## Adding the Google Analytics Tracking Code to your WordPress Website without a Plugin Google Analytics requires that you add code to your theme files. As with any change made to your site, it is highly recommended that you perform a full backup of the site so that you can recover should anything unexpected happen during the installation process. ### Obtain the Google Tracking code 1.
