How to Scale Images Using cPanel

cPanel features many tools designed to make tasks related to hosting a website easier to manage. When working with images for your website, the Images section of cPanel will simplify creating thumbnails, converting image file types, and scaling/resizing images. In this guide, you can learn how to scale an image using cPanel.

Scale Image

  1. Log into your cPanel account.

  2. Under the Files subheader, click on the Images icon.

  3. Click on the Thumbnailer link.

  4. Navigate to the image that you would like to scale/resize and click on the name to select it.

  5. Once a selection is made, cPanel will allow you to specify the percentage (%) by which you want to scale the width and height of your images. Enter the percentage in the first field under Scale Percent then hit the Tab key.

  6. Click on the Scale Image button.

  7. The page will reload once the images have all been thumnailed and display a message similar to the following:

    “Your image /home/exampl3/public_html/photos/example-image.jpg has been scaled to the new dimensions: ‘1013.4×1273.8’.”
