# Creating a Geo Zone in OpenCart

Previously, we discussed [what Geo Zones are and why they are important](/support/edu/opencart/311-introduction-to-geo-zones-in-opencart/). You can create new Geo Zones from within the OpenCart Dashboard. The following will explain the steps on setting up a Geo Zone in Open Cart.

## Steps to create a Geo Zone

1. [Log into your OpenCart Dashboard](/support/).
2. Go to **System > Localisation > Geo Zones**.
3. [![opencart_geozone_1](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/opencart_opencart_geozone_1-1024x338.jpg)](/support/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/opencart_opencart_geozone_1.jpg) Click “**Insert**” in the upper right corner to create a new Geo Zone and fill out the fields. **Geo Zone Name**: Name your Geo Zone. **Description**: Provide a brief description of what the Geo Zone is for.

Now, you can see your new Geo Zone in your Geo Zones screen in OpenCart.
