# Upload Episodes in Podcast Generator

After you [configure Podcast Generator](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/live-broadcasting/install-podcast-generator-softaculous/), you’ll want to upload your first episode before you [submit your podcast to iTunes](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/live-broadcasting/submit-podcasts-to-itunes-with-podcast-generator/). Podcast Generator offers multiple methods to accomplish this. If you need more disk space and performance to accommodate more podcast episodes and listeners, you can get your content transferred to our [VPS host](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/vps-hosting) for free today with our [Website Transfer process](/support/website/ensure-successful-website-transfer/).

There are two ways to upload episodes into Podcast Generator (PG):

- [Upload Episodes in Podcast Generator](#pg)
- [Upload Episodes Manually](#manual)

## Upload Episodes in Podcast Generator

The easiest way to upload a podcast is directly within the Podcast Generator tool

1. Log into Podcast Generator.
2. Click **Upload New Episode**.
3. Upload the file and fill in the required information.
4. Click **Upload Episode**.![Upload Podcast Using Generator](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/podcast-generator-upload-media-1024x798.png)

## Upload Episodes Manually

If you prefer to manually upload a podcast, you can use the cPanel File Manager or FTP.

1. Upload the audio file to the `/media` folder in your [Podcast Generator root directory](/support/website/where-to-upload-files/) via [cPanel or FTP](/support/website/how-to-upload-files-server/).
2. Log into Podcast Generator.
3. Select **FTP Feature (Auto Indexing)** under *Episodes*.
4. Click **Continue** to scan your `/media` directory. You’ll then be notified: **Scan finished:***##* new episode(s) added.

After uploading your podcast episodes, you can click **Go to the homepage** (or Edit / Delete Episodes from the Admin dashboard) to edit episode metadata (stored in an .xml file of the same name) and download episodes.
