# How to Reset Your cPanel Password From AMP

If you’ve forgotten your cPanel password, you can reset it using your Account Management Panel (AMP). You can also [Reset a cPanel password in WHM](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/cpanel/reset-cpanel-password/) if you have a VPS or Dedicated server.

**Please note**: cPanel account passwords can only be changed through AMP for [Shared Hosting](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/shared-hosting) accounts. If you have a [VPS](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/vps-hosting) or [Dedicated hosting](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/dedicated-servers) account, please [call / email / or chat with our Support Team](/support/amp/how-to-get-great-technical-support/) for further assistance with resetting your cPanel password.

## Resetting Your cPanel Password From AMP

1. [Log into your AMP](https://secure1.inmotionhosting.com/index/login).
2. Scroll down to the hosting plan you want to reset your cPanel password on.

4. Enter your **New Password**, then enter it again in the **Confirm New Password** field. A **strong** password is required to continue.![Entering New cPanel Password in AMP](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/enter-new-cpanel-password.png)
5. Click the **Reset Password** button. You are finished when you see a message stating “*Your password has been reset.*“![cPanel Password Reset Successfully](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/password-has-been-reset.png)

**Note!** If for whatever reason you cannot reset your password in AMP, please contact [tech support](/support/amp/how-to-get-great-technical-support/) for them to reset it manually.
