# How to Enable Boxtrapper in cPanel

As we continue our [BoxTrapper](/support/domain-names/how-to-use-a-custom-domain-with-github-pages/) series, we will now show you how to **enable BoxTrapper in cPanel**. This allows you to utilize the BoxTrapper tool to reduce the amount of spam you receive. For more information on this tool see our full guide [How can I use BoxTrapper to help prevent Spam](/support/email/prevent-spam/).

We recommend using [Spam Filters](/support/email/spamassassin-fighting-spam/) along with BoxTrapper to *reduce loads on the server and backscatter to illegitimate email addresses*.

## Enable BoxTrapper

1. [Log into your cPanel](/support/edu/cpanel/how-to-log-into-cpanel/).
2. [![](/support/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/email_boxtrapper_email-boxtrapper.png)](/support/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/email_boxtrapper_email-boxtrapper.png) In the *Email* section, click the **BoxTrapper** button.
3. [![](/support/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/email_boxtrapper_manage-email-address.png)](/support/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/email_boxtrapper_manage-email-address.png) You will see all of your email addresses listed along with the status. Click the **Manage** link next to the address you want to enable BoxTrapper for.
4. [![](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/email_boxtrapper_enable-boxtrapper-for-email.png)](/support/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/email_boxtrapper_enable-boxtrapper-for-email.png) You will then be on the *Configure BoxTrapper* page. Next to *Current Status* click the **Enable** button. [![](https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/email_boxtrapper_boxtrapper-has-been-enabled.png)](/support/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/email_boxtrapper_boxtrapper-has-been-enabled.png) You are finished when you see a message stating “*BoxTrapper has been enabled*“.

Congratulations, now you know how to **enable BoxTrapper in cPanel**! In the next guide of our series we will show you how to configure BoxTrapper Settings.
