As we continue our series on the UpdraftPlus plugin, we will now show you how to delete a WordPress backup. After downloading a WordPress backup it is recommended to remove them from your server to reduce the amount of disk space your website uses. This allows you to utilize your server space for other website files.
Delete WordPress Backup
- Log into your WordPress Dashboard.
In the navigation menu click Settings then UpdraftPlus Backups.
Scroll down to the Existing Backups section to view available backups.
You will then see your backups listed, click the Delete button next to the one you want to remove from the server.
A pop up will ask “Are you sure that you wish to remove this backup set from UpdraftPlus?” Click the Delete button to permananelty delete this backup from your server.
A pop-up window will then provide a summary of what was done. Click the OK button to return to the UpdraftPlus settings page.
You can also erase parts of a backup such as the Database, Plugins, Themes, Uploads, and Others. Select the one you want to remove, then click the Delete from your web server button. In this example, I have deleting a Database.
When it is finished, you will see a message stating “ The file has been deleted.“
