Using Visual Composer and some other VC addons to design my page. After a couple of additions to the page through those plugins the page autosaves disabling both, preview and publish buttons indefinitely. I have limit the time Wordpress autosaves by following the steps in your tutorial, but I understand that is not the proper solution because once I go back to the normal autosave intervals the issue comes back.

How can I find what is conflicting with autosave making it stall?

JeffMa,
I have posted the question to the plugin authors, but seems like I will get the typical "it works ok on our end" kind of response. Based on your experience, if it is not the plugins fault, what can be conflicting with the autosave feature in Wordpress? Could it be that it is not having access to the database and that is the reason it hangs? If I press the save button soon before the autosave kicks in the page is saved without an issue though.

Regards,
George

Hello,

Thank you for your question. Turning on debugging in Wordpress can help locate any errors within your WordPress site as well as any plugins and themes that may be causing errors.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.

Thank you,
John-Paul

Hello John-Paul,
I have been tracking errors with debugging enabled and did disable a few plugins that were throwing errors. I did not know about debugging script error and after making the additions based on the tutorial you provided, I still get both buttons disabled, edit window says "saving draft...", and no debug errors.

It sounds like there could be some issues within the plugin itself that you are using. I recommend reaching out to the plugin developer for more information.
