Thunderbird Not Responding after Windows 10 Upgrade

Since upgrade to Windows 10, I often get the message "not responding" when using Thunderbird. It can lock up for a minute or more, then it is OK for a while. (Sometimes, a very short while.) As far as I know, nothing else has changed. Does anyone have some insight to this problem?

Thank you for your question regarding Thunderbird not responding after upgrading to Windows 10. Ensure you are running the latest version of Thunderbird that is compatible with Windows 10.

Check yourmail logs around the time issues are occurring for additional clues or record of your transmission.

This will indicate if there is a problem communicating with the server, or with your Thunderbird client.
