I have submitted a ticket for an issue with the padlock icon not displaying in the address bar in Firefox
and an SSL verification issue at http://whynopadlock.com .

The SSL verification return this :

Domain Name: www.example.com
URL Tested: https://www.example.com
Number of items downloaded on page: 99
SSL verification issue (Possibly mis-matched URL or bad intermediate cert.). Details:
ERROR: cannot verify www.example.com's certificate, issued by '/C=GB/ST=Greater Manchester/L=Salford/O=COMODO CA Limited/CN=COMODO SSL CA': Unable to locally verify the issuer's authority.
Certificate valid through: May 15 23:59:59 2015 GMT
Certificate Issuer: COMODO CA Limited
SSL Protocols Supported: TLSv1 TLSv1.1 TLSv1.2
All 99 items called securely!
Secure calls made to other websites:
ajax.googleapis.com is valid and secure.

According to the support team, the lock in the browser address bar is not displaying because of insecure content on the website like insecure links and images, and recommend me to look at this link for more info: http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/security/ssl-lock-display

As I don't have the right knowledge to correct this, I would really appreciate if someone could help me solve the following issues :
1. How to change the absolute links for images and text links to relative links in OpenCart 1.5.6.4 ?
2. How to solve the SSL verification issue at http://whynopadlock.com ?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hello TJEdens,

Thank you so much for your prompt response.
In fact, I have seen that post but I was not sure if it was the right solution. Beside, I don't know where to insert that code in config.php ?
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I would put it near the bottom of the page but I would suggest leaving comments like below so you know where you put the code.

// This is a note in php files
// Custom code below
code would go here
// Custom Code Above

Hello TJEdens,

Thank you so much for your help.
I have not received any answer from the support team for issue number 2. However, I have inserted the code in config.php and also in admin/config.php, but it did not help. When I click on the checkout button, the lock display for a few seconds and disappear again. So I have removed the code again until I find another solution.
I would really appreciate if you could find out what is wrong.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.
Best regards
Arkenseal

Hello Arkenseal,

They should respond to your ticket, however you may respond to it as well to bring it see if something has gone wrong with it. It is not normal, but it doesn't hurt to check. This will reset the ticket timer but if you have not heard within a reasonable amount of time, I would do it.

Hello Scott,

The SSL verification issue has been resolved after a renewal with a new SHA-2 encryption certificate.
Unfortunately, the lock is still not displaying. When I click on the checkout button, the lock displays for a few seconds and disappear again.

I have tried Chrome inspect element on the checkout page and it gave me this result on the console:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://www.example.com/index.php?route=checkout/checkout' was loaded over HTTPS,but requested an insecure image 'http://www.example.com/image/comodo_secure_52x63_black.png'. This content should also be served over HTTPS. trustlogo.js:17

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hello Arkenseal,

Thank you for your question. I reviewed the error and it is providing specific clues.
This page is loading securely:
https://www.example.com/index.php?route=checkout/checkout

But the page is trying to load this image insecurely:
http://www.example.com/image/comodo_secure_52x63_black.png

Since this looks like your Comodo SSL logo, make sure when you add it, you using the "https" link in the code.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.

Thank you,

Issue Solved
Hello John-Paul,

Thank you for your help.

I have checked the code and indeed there was missing an ''s'' in TrustLogo("http://www.example.com/image/comodo_secure_52x63_black.png", "CL1", "none");
I correct it and the problem was solved. At least in Firefox and Chrome where the padlock is displaying normally. In IE the lock appear for a few seconds and disappear again. I have no idea why?

Best regards
